Michael J. Christie, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., Board Certified OB/GYN
Dr. Christie believes in the old-fashioned doctor/patient relationship with an emphasis on devoting his time and complete attention to his patients’ health care needs. His medical philosophy includes building a strong partnership with each patient to ensure long-term health and happiness.

Dr. Christie has gained a wide range of surgical and medical experience during his busy twenty year career. He performs the latest and most up to date surgical techniques including laser surgery, advanced robotic assisted surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery (“telescopic” surgery). Many surgical problems that in the past have been treated with large abdominal incisions can now be handled through a laparoscope. This procedure, in which he has had extensive experience, provides the patient with a significantly faster recovery time, much less post operative pain, as well as small incisions.

After completing medical school at The University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1995, Dr. Christie completed his residency training in Virginia in 1999. He has been serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast for over twenty years.

Dr. Christie became Board Certified in January 2003, became a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in June 2003, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of OB/GYN.

Dr. Christie is happily married to his wife, Diane, and they have one daughter, who is 19 years old.
Leanne Virgilio, FNP-C, Board Certified Nurse Practitioner

Leanne earned her Bachelor's Degree in nursing from William Carey University in 2010. Her first nursing position was in a neurology unit at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Since that time, Leanne has worked in home health and at Garden Park Medical Center for 8 years.
In her time at Garden Park, she gained extensive experience in several different nursing specialties including labor and delivery, post partum, pediatrics, emergency department, ICU, and serving as a nursing supervisor. Leanne went on to complete her Masters Degree of Science in nursing and became a board certified family nurse practitioner.

While in school, Leanne trained for six months under Dr. Christie. Upon graduating she was chosen to become a part of Dr. Christie's team. While Leanne enjoys working in women's health, she especially enjoys taking care of pregnant women during that very special time of their lives.
